Yaron Schwartzman // Therapist

As your therapist, I will help you construct the story of your  needs, your wants, your relationships, your hopes, and meaning in your life.

Therapy is a space where we make sense of the world around us, much as humans have been striving to do since we first painted on cave walls. As your therapist, I will help you construct the story of your  needs, your wants, your relationships, your hopes, and meaning in your life. I strive to provide a space that is safe and supportive so that you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself, foster self-compassion, and ultimately embark on a journey of personal growth and transformation.

I work with individuals and couples and have extensive experience with trauma, anxiety, and depression. I specialize in substance use issues, parenting, and conscious uncoupling. Separation and divorce, can be a profoundly painful and often unsupported ordeal; through conscious uncoupling, I guide couples to navigate this transition with compassion and kindness. My approach integrates psychodynamic, narrative, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples.

I was born in Israel, grew up in Kenya, and studied in Europe before I came to the US. That global experience informs my worldview and my approach to therapy and interpersonal relationships. I also have a masters degree from Columbia University in filmmaking and ran a production company for many years before turning my focus to therapy. I earned my masters degree in Social Work at NYU. I draw from an eclectic stream both professionally and personally and I believe this expands my ability to be deeply empathetic to the diverse needs of my clients.
