Lydia Duquette
Therapist
We will explore diverse elements of your identity: past, present, and future, in an effort to understand both where you are now and where you want to go next.
Therapy is a collaborative journey. My approach is supportive and grounded in curiosity; I will challenge you to explore different possibilities and consider new ways of thinking. We will work together to discover the elements of your life that contribute to — or hold you back from — your goals.
I believe in the power of storytelling. We will often work creatively to map your life experiences across time, place, and body. We will explore diverse elements of your identity: past, present, and future, in an effort to understand both where you are now and where you want to go next. I will work alongside you to explore how life events are impacting your relationships. Through honesty and curiosity, we will consider how to return to yourself and others despite loss and hardship. As a therapist, it’s important that I facilitate a space for reflection and active discourse. Wherever you are currently in your life story, I will meet you there.
I earned my MSW (Masters in Social Work) from Hunter College Silberman School of Social Work. I have substantial experience working with adults, children, and the family unit across the lifespan. My areas of specialization include: grief and loss, anxiety, reproductive health issues, intimate relationships, and family conflict.
