Group Therapy

Downtown Men’s Process Group

In a direct and supportive environment, this New York City-based men’s process group addresses the complexities of modern masculinity, with a focus on practical issues. Members discuss challenges related to being single and maintaining relationships, alongside navigating work-life balance and societal roles. It provides a safe space for men to discuss various aspects of their lives, including personal identity, relationships, substance use, and emotional vulnerability. The group will open up a conversation on challenges that men often face financial stress, particularly pertinent in the high-cost urban setting of New York. It serves as a platform for men to discuss masculinity, questioning norms in favor of a more personal and contemporary understanding of what it means to be a man today.

When: Once a week Mondays 6pm

Where: 412 Sixth Avenue, Suite 401

Attached @Work

Attachment refers to the emotional bond between individuals in close relationships. While normally associated with romantic and familial relationships, research suggests that attachment has a significant impact on work relationships as well. In our workshop we’ll talk about how attachment styles impact the way we relate to others when faced with emotional challenges at work. We’ll address strengths and weaknesses associated with the different styles and ways of identifying and regulating attachment related emotions and behaviors. We will also explore how to create more emotional safety in the workplace to avoid attachment behaviors that get in the way of individuals and teams achieving their goals and getting needs met.

At the end of this workshop you will be able to:

  • Identify your attachment related behaviors

  • Understand how to utilize strategies for regulating attachment related emotions and behaviors

  • Create a plan for how to create emotional safety within teams
